Hi there! I just found your blog and am so glad I did. I have a son who is 16 who also recovered from autism. We are still dealing with some speech issues, but he is no longer on the autism spectrum. We used an Applied Behavioral Analysis program from the time he was almost 5 until he was about 8. I am not sure if this is the method you used since I have not finished exploring your wonderful blog, but I see that you homeschool (as we do) and I have to say that your children are adorable!
Unfortunately, we are now dealing with other medical issues with one of our other children (we have eight) and he also has a blog at www.prayingfornoah.com.
I have a ton of questions for you about your dear family, but this isn't the place to ask them so I will try to email you soon.
Wow Jeff, I read your wife's site. My heart goes out to you. I have two suggestions for you to research... you may already have done this. I am not a medical doc so these are just suggestions based on what I read. The Body Ecology Diet (www.bodyecology.com) and Juice Plus (the address is in the side bar). The Body Ecology would help with the gut situation, the Juice Plus would help with overall immune health and function as well as gut health. It helps repair DNA and other "unfixable" problems in the body. The research is on the front page of that site, bottom left.
Please do email me, I'm sure we could learn from each other. Congratulations on your older sons recovery; what a precious thing!! Oh and congratulations on having so many blessings... eight children! I am jealous I admit. :)
